No more contracts for BP says Government
No more government contracts for the company BP, Shutting down more domestic Drilling. Someone really feels it is important to keep oil flowing from muslim countries. It's important to be a self sufficient country on every level possible yet the powers that be are continuously making it difficult for the US to be at the top of our game in ANYTHING.

Bangladesh Factory Fire - Disney Sears & Walmart
The news is reporting that the Bangladesh factory fire which killed more than 100 made clothes for Disney, Sears and Walmart. All companies who should be employing AMERICANS.
If the THUG UNIONS would get their nose out of the wages (too high) arena and only worry about the welfare of workers America would have more of these jobs.
It's the unions who have made these jobs too expensive for the companies to compete in the USA.
Until Unions are put in their place America will continue to suffer.

Smoking Rots The Brain So Says Recent Study
BBC Website
Smoking "rots" the brain by damaging memory, learning and reasoning, according to researchers at King's College London.
A study of 8,800 people over 50 showed high blood pressure and being overweight also seemed to affect the brain, but to a lesser extent.
Scientists involved said people needed to be aware that lifestyles could damage the mind as well as the body.
Their study was published in the journal Age and Ageing.
Researchers at King's were investigating links between the likelihood of a heart attack or stroke and the state of the brain.
Data about the health and lifestyle of a group of over-50s was collected and brain tests, such as making participants learn new words or name as many animals as they could in a minute, were also performed.
They were all tested again after four and then eight years.
Decline
The results showed that the overall risk of a heart attack or stroke was "significantly associated with cognitive decline" with those at the highest risk showing the greatest decline.
It also said there was a "consistent association" between smoking and lower scores in the tests.
Alzheimer's Research UK
One of the researchers, Dr Alex Dregan, said: "Cognitive decline becomes more common with ageing and for an increasing number of people interferes with daily functioning and well-being.
"We have identified a number of risk factors which could be associated with accelerated cognitive decline, all of which, could be modifiable."
He added: "We need to make people aware of the need to do some lifestyle changes because of the risk of cognitive decline."
The researchers do not know how such a decline could affect people going about their daily life. They are also unsure whether the early drop in brain function could lead to conditions such as dementia.
Heart and brain
Dr Simon Ridley, from Alzheimer's Research UK, said: "Research has repeatedly linked smoking and high blood pressure to a greater risk of cognitive decline and dementia, and this study adds further weight to that evidence.
"Cognitive decline as we age can develop into dementia, and unravelling the factors that are linked to this decline could be crucial for finding ways to prevent the condition.
"These results underline the importance of looking after your cardiovascular health from mid-life."
The Alzheimer's Society said: "We all know smoking, a high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and a high BMI [Body Mass Index] is bad for our heart. This research adds to the huge amount of evidence that also suggests they can be bad for our head too.
"One in three people over 65 will develop dementia but there are things people can do to reduce their risk.
"Eating a balanced diet, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly, getting your blood pressure and cholesterol checked and not smoking can all make a difference."

New Sars Virus Found In The Middle East
From Redorbit.com comes a report that six people have been infected and two have died from a virus closely related to SARS which caused concern in recent years.
From Red Orbit:
A new coronavirus, similar in nature to SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), has infected six and resulted in two deaths in the Middle East, various media outlets have reported this weekend.
According to BBC News, the number of reported cases, as well as the number of fatalities linked with the respiratory ailment, doubled on Friday, as a second person was reported killed and three additional infections had been reported by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Both fatalities occurred in Saudi Arabia, and reports of the virus had been limited to that country and Qatar thus far, though one man had been transported to the UK for treatment, they added.
The WHO initially issued a global warning about the disease is September, cautioning that a Qatar man who had recently traveled to Saudi Arabia had become infected with a virus that had previously never been detected in humans, where a second man had died from the same disease, Kate Kelland of Reuters reported on Friday.
The new disease “shares some of the symptoms of SARS,” a coronavirus that surfaced in China in 2002, killing approximately 10% of the 8,000 people who contracted it worldwide, Kelland added. Among those symptoms are coughing, difficulty breathing, and high fever.
“The WHO said investigations were being conducted into the likely source of the infection, the method of exposure, and the possibility of human-to-human transmission of the virus,” said Forbes contributor David DiSalvo. “It added that so far, only the two most recently confirmed cases in Saudi Arabia were epidemiologically linked — they were from the same family, living in the same household.”
In a statement, WHO officials said heath officials should “continue their surveillance for severe acute respiratory infections,” and until additional information becomes available, it would be “prudent to consider that the virus is likely more widely distributed than just the two countries which have identified cases.”
They suggested anyone suffering from “unexplained pneumonias” should be tested for the new virus, even if they had not traveled to either Qatar or Saudi Arabia. In the meantime, they said they could continue to work with officials in both countries to gain a better understanding of the disease, and noted additional epidemiological and scientific studies were required to learn more about this SARS-like ailment

Powerball Jackpot Be A Record $425 Million Or Higher At Next Drawing
With no winner in Saturday's drawing the POWERBALL Jackpot goes to a record $425 Million Dollars. That is how hight the jackpot will be for Wednesday's drawing. The Jackpot could actually go higher than that as ticket sales will likely increase as the novelty of having a shot at that much money will be irrisistible to many.
This press release from the Associated Press:
DES MOINES, Iowa – Lottery officials say nobody has won the Powerball jackpot and the top prize will now increase to about $425 million for the next drawing, the largest jackpot ever for the game.
Iowa Lottery spokeswoman Mary Neubauer said sales were strong over the holiday week for Saturday's drawing, which was estimated at $325 million before the numbers were picked. That was the fourth-largest jackpot in the game's history.
Neubauer says the jackpot for Wednesday's drawing could go even higher than the estimated $425 million because sales pick up in the days before record drawings.
The previous top Powerball prize was $365 million, won in 2006 by a ConAgra Foods Workers in Lincoln, Neb.
The Powerball numbers for Saturday were 22-32-37-44-50, and the Powerball was 34

Capital Holiday Parade in Washington DC Has Been Canceled
In the last few hours it was finally announced that the Capital Holiday Parade has indeed been canceled. This from their website.
We are very sad to announce that the Capital Holiday Parade has been canceled due to lack of funding to pay for District of Columbia city services. We are a small non-profit 501(c)3 organization with a goal to promote music education and performing arts throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area and across the United States.
We knocked on every door and left no stone unturned for financial support and we were just unable to secure funding for what we know would have been a great event to kick off the holiday season here in Washington, DC.
All tickets purchased on our website as well as through our partner Living Social will be refunded immediately.
A HUGE THANKS goes out to the Washington Examiner and their staff members: Mitch, Deanna, Tiffany and Marilu for all of their support. Please continue to support the Washington Examiner and their efforts to inform the Washington Metropolitan Area of important news and information in the community. This is truly the best source of information in the metropolitan area and a company that cares about the community.
We offer a sincere heartfelt "thank you" to all that volunteered and offered their time to try and make the Capital Holiday Parade a success. It is our hope that you and your families will have a wonderful holiday season.
Warm Regards,
Capital Holiday Parade Staff

Washington DC Capital Holiday Parade Canceled?
On November 21st just three days before the November 24th Washington DC Capital Holiday Parade was supposed to take place a group of participants were notified (early in the day) that the parade was canceled. Twelve hours later and there is no word of it in the news. The parade's website is still showing the parade is on as scheduled. Why would they not notifiy the public? If there is a reason to cancel a parade why not warn all those people planning to go to the event? How many are already on their way? Interesting.

Penn State Bans Elmo
It wasn't enough that Penn State overreacted and ousted Joe Paterno when it was Sandusky they should have dealt with but now they are taking down photos of Elmo because the puppeteer who plays elmo is involved in an underage sex scandal. Do those in charge of Penn State understand that Elmo is not the guilty one?

Arrest Made In Monkey Murder
It was good to read an arrest has been made in the murder of a monkey at Zoo Boise.
The article suggests the attacker may have been on drugs. That shouldn't matter. He is a murderer and should be treated as such. If it was drugs then he was under the influence by his own hand. He is responsible for himself. I hope he gets jail time and large fines and is forced to community service at a zoo. He should be forced to pick up animal poo with his teeth.
Remember this man and hope he suffers for being a sub human.

The Slogan was NOT Give Me Your Tired, Your Lazy
Homeland Security Promotes Welfare Or Welcome To Socialism and A Lazy New Group Of "Americans
In part the article says: Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your new country can do for you. “Welcome to USA.gov,” a website maintained by the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), bills itself as the “primary gateway for new immigrants to find basic information on how to settle in the United States” — featuring a prominent section for new immigrants about how to access government benefits. This is not what the American Dream should be about. It should be about coming here and working hard for a good living, not having it handed to you so you can sit around, be lazy and get fat.

Monkey Murdered at Zoo Boise
A break in at Zoo Boise had devestating effects. A monkey at the zoo was gravely injured. This paragraph from the article speaks volumes:
During a search of the zoo before dawn, Burns heard a groan that at first he thought sounded human. It turned out to be an injured Patas monkey barely moving near the perimeter fence. The zoo's veterinarian was called, but the monkey died just before 6 a.m. as it was being examined. A necropsy later determined that blunt force trauma was the cause of death, police said. As the investigation continues we can only hope the person responsible is caught and charged with every chrime possible.

Socialism is Not an Option
We have a system that increasingly taxes work and subsidizes nonwork. - Milton Friedman
How true, and NOT what this country was founded on. Our country needs to get back to the good old days. Were there problems? Of Course, but we had qualities that the liberals and their media friends are trying to do away with. We as a country had a strong work ethic. We did not expect everything handed to us. We cheered those who wanted prosperity. Now the attitude is that of spreading the wealth around to those who are too lazy to work for themselves. That is a philosophy sure to doom a country. Helping someone get back on their feet is miles away from supporting them while they sit there being a lazy do nothing. This country has always helped their neighbor, but it's time to stop supporting them. We are not a socialist country and should fight against becoming one.

Twinkies Killed By The Unions
Hostess the company that makes TWINKIES has now laid off 18,000 workers. Good job Bakers' Union, You have helped prove once again that unions, are slowly destroying the ability for this country's businesses to continue to prosper. There is a big difference between looking out for the welfare of the workers as you were originally intented to do and aiding the greed of the American worker be pricing them out of the market. American workers need a "Fair Wage" but UNIONS quickly push for greed. Dear unons, Your workers are not doing rocket science. Stop at a FAIR wage, don't demand what the USA economy cannot provide. Rip Twinkies, Cupcakes, Ding Dongs, Wonder Bread and Ho Ho's. Another Victim of a thug union.

Political Karma
Reported from various news sources...
PA and Ohio just posted higher jobless rates. A week after they gave their electoral votes to a man who promised to shut down Marcellus shale operations and toughen regulations on coal. You just have to hope that those new jobless people voted for Obama. The rest of us were smart enough to see this coming.
Meanwhile Denny's is going to charge a 5% Obamacare surcharge. Good for them. Maybe midterm elections will bleed out the blue.
Jesse Jackson Jr won't resign from congress until he gets disability pay. More of the what's in it for me mentality.

A Record Number Of States
Due to Obama's reelection a record number of states want to secede from the United States and businesses are putting hiring freezes in place and many many people are afraid of Obamacare. How did he get elected?

Rock Stars and Nut Shells
It's finally hit me as to how to reason out why anyone (aside from being gay and wanting to marry) would ever vote Obama into office for a second term. It's learned behavoir. Think of the rock star that people scream over and say is the "best ever." Aynone with ears could tell you differently, but the fans rant and rave over the "best voice ever." If you press these fans further (onces with an IQ anyway) they admit that they aren't really the best voice but they give away freebees with their fan club and tell you you are wonderful because you are a fan. Meanwhile the fans of Pavarotti or Sinatra may not get as many giveaways or perks but they have the satisfaction of knowing that they are fans of someone who really does have talent. That's the state of the presidency in a nut shell.

Indianapolis
There was a large explosion about two hours ago in Indianapolis Indiana. They aren't sure what has caused it but they are saying everything from a gas explosion to a plane crash. The people of the area were told to have ready kits in case of an emergency. Those from adjoining neighborhoods are gathering their kits and going to the scene to help. No major national television stations are covering it. All news is coming from a web broadcast of a local station, and of course twitter.

Oil Drilling Shut Down Out West
In order to keep the USA dependent on foreign oil the Obama Administration is shutting down shale drilling projects in the western part of the country. The administration is already anti-coal and seemingly wants to keep us in a subservient position to the Saudis who are predominantly muslim.
It is important to remember that by taking away our ability to produce our own energy we are also being stripped of our freedom as we are now dependent on an outside entity for our survival.
Stripping our energy independence

Big Mac Attack
Today there was news that McDonalds sales dropped for the first time in a decade. Yay, you say? People are starting to eat healthier? That would a step in the right direction, BUT, let's be realisitc. It's probably the economy. Yes, even the luxury meals at McDonalds are too expensive for many these days.

Non-Profits And Their Salaries
Non-profits are largely suffering in the current climate of the poor US economy. Therefore the largest of them should be rethinking their incredibly high salaries for their top executives. Non - Profit jobs on local levels do not have the large salaries however, Non-profits such as the Red Cross have top salaries of over $600,000.00 annually. In the climate of a non-profit those in charge should not be paid such a large salary. Yes they take in Millions of dollars a year, but how many blankets or how much food or shelter could you get with that kind of cash?

Benghazi...The Debacle Continues
It's now been admitted that The Obama administration lied about the Benghazi attack. So why are we not charging them as an accomplice to murder? It was a cover up for sure, but no one seems to be all that suprised. What has this country come to? Oh, the good old days of Nixon when you could force an undesireable out of office. Have the lawyers fallen asleep at the controls? Edgar Snyder where are you? I don't mean that. Edgar Snyder and his firm are not really up to the job...

Let's Hope It's Just Temporary
So, Jesse Jackson Jr wins his reelection from the looney bin. That doesn't make me feel better about our dire financial and health related situations in this country but it's somehow fitting. I think it's knowing that we can chalk up much of the current political situation to insanity. Let's hope for the sake of our nation it's temporary.

Election Fraud Pot Meet Kettle
Democrat Howard Dean Says of today's Presidential Election: "The only way we lose is through fraud." Fraud...Fraud...Oh, You mean like cutting delegates in half in Michigan and Florida when it was to Obama's advantage and Hillary's disadvantage? And then outright stripping Hillary of some of her EARNED delegates? You mean fraud like THAT Howard? Well, if anyone should know about fraud it would be YOU Mr. Dean.
Disappearing Czars
The Obama Czars....what happened to that plan? Where did they go? They apparently still there. Just flying under the radar. Who has Czars in America? That's not an American thing.
The Economy
Yes, I agree with the news reporter that the economy is a big issue for this election. But keeping socialism at bay is too. Socialism and Marxism are not positive places for a country to be and we are there if we aren't careful. Don't give the USA four more years of socialist Obama. Please.
Goodness For Pets
This past year a law was passed that any state wanting to be eligible for FEMA aid has to accomodate pets during an evacuation situation. You cannot be made to abandon your pet! Good news and the way it should be!
It's Been A Week
There are still 1.2 million people without power in the New York, New Jersey area after Hurricane Sandy. People are cold and help is very slow in coming. Shouldn't the Red Cross and FEMA have a better handle on these things? Obama came to the Rescue...no not to the rescue exactly...actually it was for a photo op. He came...they begged...he posed for a picture and went back on the campaign trail. Bloomberg is almost as much of a joke as Obama. If Guiliani were in charge it would be likely that things would be in MUCH better shape.

Obama Care Doesn't Really Help Americans
Yes, my health insurance has gone up since Obama took office, and a friend with a chronic illness has been told that the medicine that helps his severe pain is no longer available to him since the small amount of Obama care kicked in this past April.
Obama care is a scam and will end up costing more money, and killing more people due to waiting times and unavailable meds.
Four Years and Worse Than We Were
Today is the day before Election day 2012. The election is so close. With all the momentum Obama had in the last election he would be breezing through this process if he had even risen to the level of mediocre. As it is Romney is likely to take several "blue leaning" states. The main reasons so many are no longer backing Obama are varied. his hiding facts about the murders of four Americans in Benghazi, his mishadling of our economy, the constant apologizing for America which makes us look weak, The list goes on and on. I don't know a single person who is better off now than four years ago. Obama does not seem to have America as his top priority. I'm betting Romney Will.

The Red Cross
It's sad how the Red Cross is still begging for money for hurricane victims when they are so ill prepared to handle anything of this magnitude. Not only have they failed to get proper supplies and shelter to the people of NY and NJ but they are asking cash strapped America to send money when their CEO makes over $650,000.00 a year! As we see from their disorganization they are obviously not earning that outlandish amount of money. The Red Cross is supposed to be ready to act at a moments notice yet they had more than 72 hours to start making plans for this storm. Perhaps they need to spend more money on preparedness and less on a CEO who is obviously ineffective.
George Soros Wants to Cut Military Benefits
Since when has Soros been running this country? Oh, right, Since Obama "Won" the last election. Raise your hand...were you a half delegate or a full delegate in the primary of 2008? Depends on who you were for, right?
Soros' idea of cutting benefits to the military is another way to make America weak. No one in their right mind loves war, but if you are not prepared for it you can fast become a victim. Obama and Soros are all about making America weak, as a military force, and a financial force, as a nation. They are not good for this country.

Dear America
It's obvious by the closeness of the upcoming Presidential Election that you are waking up to the dangers of a socialist society. Obama is a socialist who wants to make the people of this nation so dependent on the government that it no longer cares to live the American Dream. Another four years of Obama and those of us to want to strive and work for what we get will be a minority. Keep the American Dream alive by voting for the person who believes in a strong work ethic, and not handouts for illegals and chronic welfare dwellers. Romney will pull America out of it's slump and help us to return to a nation of Proud AMERICANS.
